Whether you're stepping into a brand-new idea or ready to breathe life back into a project that’s been waiting for you, this focused 2.5-hour online workshop is the perfect way to set your creative year in motion.

A new year brings fresh energy — ideal for meeting (or re-meeting) that niggling idea with clarity and intention. Through a series of structured exercises, we’ll explore how to begin or begin again with purpose. You’ll leave with renewed momentum, practical tools to sustain your writing practice, and strategies for navigating the next steps once your draft is underway.

Bring your idea at any stage:

  • A compelling question you want to explore

  • A genre calling you forward

  • A sentence, a few pages, or an incomplete draft

  • A work-in-progress that needs fresh energy

“Erica is an engaging and encouraging mentor to help navigate the writing process and help identify the unhelpful habits and patterns of thought that can hold us back in the early stages of writing. She creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere and contextualises her experiences and wisdom in a really useful way.”
